Fighting the 2008 Swift Boaters – part 1
Expect to see some vicious attacks against Barack Obama during this election. It’s going to happen, so it’s important to remind folks that some things ain’t necessarily so.
Larry Sinclair is an asshole. He’s made some absurd comments about Obama using cocaine and having gay sex with him 1999. Whitehouse.com offered Sinclair $100,000 if he could pass a polygraph test. Sinclair took the test, and failed.
What’s insane is that the National Press Club is allowing him a forum to spew his nonsense this Wednesday.
FiredogLake has created a petition demanding that then National Press Club cancel Sinclair’s appearance. You can also call the National Press Club at 202-662-7500 and ask them to reconsider their actions.
As I wrote in my comments to the National Press Club – “Why are you even bothering to give this guy a forum? Why not share this opportunity to Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster, and all the alien space babies of Elvis? It’d be just as credible as what you’re doing by allowing Larry Sinclair to broadcast his nonsense.”
More than anything else, it was the Swift Boaters being treated like they were legitimate by traditional media that allowed them to wreck such havoc on Kerry’s 2004 campaign. Don’t let it happen again.
