What would you ask Barack Obama?
I received an intriguing email from ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos:
Just wanted to give you a heads up that this Sunday’s edition of This Week with George Stephanopoulos will feature the first Sunday morning interview with Senator Barack Obama. We think it’s going to be an especially news-worthy interview, as George presses Obama for more specifics about his vision, positions, campaign promises, etc.
Also, supporters of Barack Obama- NOW! may be interested in a new feature for This Week – “Be Seen, Be Heard” We’ve set it up so people can submit video questions to our guests (with chosen ones featured on This Week). They can submit videos to Senator Obama at this link: http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/BeSeenBeHeard/story?id=3078388, or they can email questions to thisweek@abc.com.
What a wonderful idea!

I really do not know what anyone who had a part in creating this system was thinking. If we lived in a perfect world, NSPS could be a good system. Since this is not a perfect world and human nature, and egos have a big part in the way human being conduct themselves as managers, we have got to stop this from becoming law. I have worked for Civil Service for over 20 years. I have worked all over the world. I have never found one manager that did not have his or her favorite employees. I have been on both ends and I can tell you both times it just made me sick. I’m now on the short end of the stick. I’m over 50, female and a minority. These three things are a death trap on a job within civil service. I have gone form a wage grade 4 through the GS ranks of GS 4-11. I set at my job begging for work to do that is both challenging and rewarding. I have gone to my boss, her boss, and even her boss. I have gone to the union to complain, and EEO. To no avail, so I just set and watch management bring in all of their friends, their friends husbands, and family. The things they have in place now do not stop managers from abusing their power. I tell my spouse if I were working for the managers in their own businesses I would not have this issue, of getting paid and doing no work. The government’s money is not theirs so they could care less. They waste so much money. This is what puts our country at risk of National Security. We as civil service employees work very hard for a lot less money because we love our country. We should not have to just let people treat us like we do not matter.
